About me

Hi, I am Rachel. I am a licensed therapist and certified trauma sensitive yoga teacher. I have lived half my life in the northeast and half in the south, and I like to think I carry the best of both within me! Over the past 15 years, I have had the honor of working within the healing field in many different capacities. I worked with individuals and families experiencing homelessness both in Vermont and here in Nashville. I also currently serve as a contract therapist and yoga teacher with Integrative Life Center, a trauma-focused treatment center.

I work with my clients to identify their strengths and values, shed practices that no longer serve them, and find alignment with their authentic selves. Through a grounded and genuine presence, I guide my clients in regaining their power, fostering self-compassion, strengthening relationships, and connecting with their resilience. My therapeutic approach is holistic and incorporates an attachment-oriented and trauma-focused framework with integrative modalities. My style is collaborative, creative, and relational. In addition to psychotherapy, I also offer private and group trauma sensitive yoga with a focus on rebuilding safety and connection with the body.

I value bringing my human-ness into the therapy space. My ability to foster safety and empathy for others is rooted in my own trauma work and continued healing. My treatment approach is informed by the healing modalities that have been at the heart of my growth. It is an honor to provide an affirming space for all on this healing journey.

I currently live in East Nashville with my husband and very energetic pup, Willie Nelson. When I am not working, I spend my time running, hiking, practicing yoga, reading, cooking, and exploring new places.

How I work

At the core of my approach to therapy is a belief that we are all wired for healing.

I believe that each of us has our own “internal healer”, our inner guide that is drawn towards healing and authenticity. Painful experiences can sometimes disconnect us from the wisdom and intuition that our bodies hold. Through a relational, empowering, and empathetic approach, I walk with clients as they reconnect to this wisdom and reclaim their most authentic selves.

Therapy with me is…

  • I use my knowledge and intuition to help guide us towards your goals, but ultimately you are the expert of YOU. We will work together to identify goals and cultivate the path towards healing.

  • I hold a space that is authentic, warm, and empathetic. My hope is that all clients feel safe to be fully themselves, in the messy and the beautiful.

  • I believe that we must incorporate our whole selves (mind, body, and spirit) into healing.

  • I take an eclectic approach to therapy integrating different modalities. Whether its somatic work, mindfulness, or art, I will tailor all of our sessions to the unique individual.

  • I believe that therapy is an important place for us to experience healthy, direct and compassionate communication. I value honesty and genuineness.
